Champion Web
Privacy policy
Version 2.0. In effect from 22 October 2026.
- Who we are
- Champion Web Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202512563Z) is a Singapore company that sells domain names and runs championweb.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
- We’re bound by Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012, and by other privacy laws where they apply to us.
- Send questions about this policy, or requests about your information, to support@championweb.com. Our data protection officer reads them.
- What we collect
- When you buy from us or set up an account, you give us your contact details (your name, email address, phone number, and postal address) and your business’s details (its name and a business number, such as an ABN). If you add people to your account, you give us their names and email addresses.
- For each domain name, we hold the registrant and contact details its registry requires, and the DNS records you set.
- Your card details go straight to Airwallex, our payment provider, and we never see your full card number. We keep the card’s brand, last four digits, and expiry date. We also keep records of your invoices, payments, and refunds.
- When you agree to our Terms of Service, we record the version, the domain names it covered, the time, your IP address, and your browser’s description of itself (its user agent).
- Our servers log each request to our site, with the IP address it came from and the time. We use these logs to keep our services secure and to fix problems.
- We keep the emails you send us and our replies, and copies of the emails we send you. If you call us or we call you, we may record the call and keep notes of it.
- We check business numbers against public registers, such as the Australian Business Register. Registries and registrars tell us about your domain names, for example when one is renewed or transferred.
- Why we use it
- We use your information to:
- register, renew, and manage your domain names, and host their DNS records;
- run your account and sign you in;
- take payment, and keep the records tax law requires;
- send the emails and texts the service needs, such as receipts, renewal reminders, and sign-in codes;
- answer your questions and complaints;
- prevent fraud and abuse, and keep our services secure;
- tell you about our services, unless you’ve asked us not to (section 8); and
- meet our legal obligations, and those of the registries.
- We use it only for these purposes, or for related purposes you’d reasonably expect, unless you agree or the law requires otherwise.
- We use your information to:
- Who we share it with
- We share personal information only as this policy describes. We don’t sell it.
- To register a domain name, we must give the registrant’s details to our registrar and to the registry for its ending. Our registrars are Realtime Register B.V. in the Netherlands and Synergy Wholesale Pty Ltd in Australia. The registries include auDA in Australia, Verisign and Public Interest Registry in the United States, InternetNZ in New Zealand, and SGNIC in Singapore.
- Each registry publishes some registration details in its public record of domain names (called WHOIS or RDAP), as its rules require. For a .au name, auDA publishes the registrant’s name, the business number used to register it, and a contact person’s name and email address, but never a street address or phone number. For .com, .net, and .org names, most personal contact details are no longer published.
- Companies that help us run our services see only what they need for their part, under contracts that require them to protect your information: Airwallex, which processes card payments; Postmark, which sends our emails from the United States; Google, which hosts our services in Singapore (Google Cloud) and our support email (Google Workspace); and the companies that carry our phone calls and text messages.
- Our staff and contractors see what they need to help you.
- Our accountants, auditors, and lawyers see what they need for their work. Courts, regulators, and law enforcement get what the law requires, or what’s needed to protect someone from harm.
- If we sell or transfer our business, your information goes to the new owner, who must handle it as this policy says.
- Outside your country
- We’re based in Singapore. Some of the companies in section 4, and some of our team, are in other countries, including Australia, the Netherlands, the United States, and the Philippines.
- When we send personal information outside the country we collected it in, we take reasonable steps to make sure it’s protected to a standard comparable with the law that applies to it, for example through our contracts with the companies that receive it.
- Cookies
- We use cookies only to make our site work: to keep you signed in, protect your forms, and remember your order, the account you’re using, and how you’ve arranged your control panel. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don’t track you across other sites.
- Two outside services load in your browser. Our payment form comes from Airwallex, which uses its own cookies and information about your device to prevent fraud. Our fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address.
- If you block cookies on championweb.com, you won’t be able to sign in or buy from us, so allow them for our site.
- How long we keep it
- We keep your information while you’re our customer, and afterwards for as long as we need it to meet legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. We keep invoices and payment records for at least 5 years, as tax law requires.
- We keep call recordings for up to 12 months, and server logs for a short time.
- When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
- Marketing
- We may tell you about our services by email, by post, or by phone. Every marketing email has a link to stop them, and you can ask us to stop any kind of marketing at any time by emailing support@championweb.com.
- We still send the emails and texts the service needs, such as receipts and renewal reminders.
- Security
- We protect your information with encryption in transit, by limiting access to the people who need it, and by keeping our team’s access to our systems on a private network.
- No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you, and the regulators, as the law requires.
- Your rights
- You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. We’ll answer within 30 days, and we don’t charge for this. You can also update most of your details yourself in your control panel.
- You can withdraw your consent to our use of your information. If we need it to register or renew a domain name or to run your account, we’ll tell you what withdrawing it would mean for your services before we act on it.
- Sometimes the law lets or requires us to refuse a request, for example when answering it would reveal someone else’s information. If we refuse, we’ll tell you why.
- Complaints
- If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, email support@championweb.com. We’ll reply within 30 days.
- If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission.
- Children
- Our services are for adults and businesses. We don’t knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.
- Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy. The version and date at the top tell you which one you’re reading. If a change affects how we use information we already hold about you, we’ll email you before it takes effect.
